It is the middle of January, it is -15 C outside today and it is time to pull our fluffy blankets up to our ears and talk self-care! This is not a sponsored post, I just really like those products and I want to spread the word.
- Light a candle
- For a cozy mood I like to light candles during the dinner and have a dim lighting to match the vibes of the Victorian coziness that my new gas fireplace gives. I think when I see candle light I immediatelly slow down, because where do I usually see candles? Ambivient places like spa, wineries, nice restaurants. I really like Serendipity candles because they have huge selection of scents (even coffee and apple pie!), they smell divine and they last 50 hours! I have been burning the same candle for several weeks now.
- Do a massage
- Nothing relaxes me more than a massage. If you do not have access to massage places nearby, there are self massage tools you can get instead. There are massage balls you can use on your face to relax muscles so new wrinkles do not form or a ball you can massage your feet with to relax. There is also an advanced version – massage gun if you have a muscle pain.
- Do a facial or a skin-care routine
- I try to do gua sha several times a day – it is a shaping tool that can make me both feel and look better. I recentry tried steel gua sha and I see more significant improvements comparing to a regular jade or quarz gua sha. Of course you need to pair it with nice face oil. I use the rose one and cocoa butter oil.
- It is also nice to put on a face mask while taking a bath or even doing something productive like sorting a laundry (although my husband got scared but let’s see what he is going to say when I blind him with my beauty after I remove the mask:). Here are the ones I tried and continue using: Glam up masks (so many flavours! They smell amazing), Mearosa Korean mask, and, of course, Garnier masks.
- Do a body-care routine
- One of the ways to relax on the weekend is to do a body care routine. For me, it includes a workout at home (because since I am a self-conscious introvert, gym is the last place you will find me) on my yoga mat while listening to Energy Regaetton music, followed by relaxing bath with bubbles and bath salts.
- Read
- I am starting this year with some real money energy, and these books have absolutely transformed my money mindset: We all should be millionaires by Rachel Rodgers and Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker.
- Bake treats
- I feel like the last person on Earth who discovered cupcakes. I had so many bias against cupcakes but somehow both my husband and I fell in love with cupcakes and it turns out, it is really easy to make them at home – just mix ingridients, put the dough in muffin papers and bake, then make a cream and put it on top when cupcakes get cold. I started adding a tea spoon of jams inside a batter and it is life changing! This is so addictive that I made cupcake making my weekend tradition (crepes in the morning stay though). Here is a simple recipe that I guarantee you will love
- Learn something new
- As I am on maternity leave, I am looking for ways to occupy my mind and feel productive. I think Masterclass courses is exactly what I was missing – I am playing them on my wireless earphones while the baby is sleeping on my arms or while I am cooking dinner.
- Whatever you choose to do this weekend – have some time to yourself
