Roasted Whole Chicken with Spanish Rub

This is a perfect recipe if you have lots of spices and seasoning, a whole chicken and an hour for chicken to roast. The good news is that it is very easy to make – only 4 steps, and the scent of slightly spicy roasted chicken is beyond amazing.

Time: 10 minutes for prep, 1.15 h in the oven

Portions: depends on the size of chicken. From 4 to 6


  • whole chicken
  • Spanish rub ingredients:
    • 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil
    • 3-4 teaspoons of paprika
    • 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper
    • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
    • 2-3 teaspoons of dried parsley
    • 2-3 teaspoons of oregano
    • 2 teaspoons of basil
    • 1 teaspoon of salt
    • Black ground pepper
    • 2 tablespoons of white wine (optional, for scent)


  1. Wash chicken and place it in the oven-safe dish
  2. Mix all ingredients for Spanish rub in the small bowl
  3. Use culinary brush to brush Spanish rub on the chicken from all sides, including back and front
  4. Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 1h 15 minutes or less. Enjoy!20160710_203559
