Side dishes are underrated and unrecognized. Some of them, like this one, take about 15 minutes or less in 7 easy steps and are so tasty that they can definitely steal the spotlight! These fried potatoes with mushrooms can go well with some fried or grilled sausages, chicken or any other meat or fish, as well as on their own, next to fried bacon for breakfast, for example.
Ingredients (for 3 portions)
- 4 white potatoes
- a pack of mushrooms (200g)
- dill
- few spoons of garlic/onion (optional)
- spices/seasoning (I used some garlic salt, paprika, vegetable spices)
- Parmesan
- Freshly grounded black pepper
- Some olive oil
Instructions
- Remove potato skins and cut each potato in half, then in slices and then each slice in pieces (size of 1/3 of a regular fried potato so that they fry faster)
- Add some olive oil to the frying pan and put it on medium
- Add potatoes and stir them often
- Cut mushrooms in slices and add to potatoes. Keep stirring
- Add spices/seasoning + minced garlic/onion
- As you see potatoes getting crusty and becoming soft (in 10 minutes or less), it means they are ready
- Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh dill, Parmesan cheese and fresh grounded black pepper
- Enjoy!
